Nestled inside a rift in Jersey's sea cliffs, La Cotte de St Brelade is a special site. Neanderthals sheltered here intermittently from about 240,000 to perhaps as recently as 45,000 years ago and left behind thousands of bones and tools.

These show that the people living here hunted mammoths. But how did they ambush and kill such large animals?

In this video, archaeologists reveal how they formed a new perspective on the hunting methods of Neanderthals at La Cotte by reconstructing the landscape, now submerged beneath the sea.
