Doctoral thesis on the conservation of the Côa Valley rock art



It was just published by the English publisher Archaeopress the doctoral thesis Natural Processes in the Degradation of Open-Air Rock-Art Sites. An urgency to inform intervention scale conservation. The case of the Coa Valley World Heritage Site, Portugal (BAR S2609 2014), authored by the archaeologist António Batarda of the Côa Park Foundation.

This work discusses the problem of conservation of the rock art sites in the Côa Valley. It is the first doctoral thesis completed on aspects of the existing rock art in the Côa Valley Archaeological Park, a World Heritage Site since 1998.
